It was wet at the Cowdenbeath Racewall on Saturday night but despite that there was some cracking racing especially in the Ministox where the star drivers weren’t shy about moving each other over.
It all went wrong during the last heat when three cars went into the pit bend as one with only two exiting the bend with the unfortunate Liam Rennie ending up rolling his car after being shunted into the wall.
Derek Nimmo made his return to the racing a winning one when he took his lightning rod to a second heat win whilst Alex Imrie wrecked the front end of his car after hitting the infield gate.
Dougie Kidd crashed into a stationary car with his prostox but managed to get the car back out for the other races.

DEAN GORDON IN CHARGE
There was a good turn out of stock rods where the drivers adapted to the wet and slippery track to serve up some close and exciting races.
Heat one saw Michael Bethune go through to a narrow win over Siobhan Martin and David Philp. Martin then won heat two leading home Dean Gordon and James Gray.
Paul McKenzie was the early leader when the final started but D. Gordon made a good start and within the first few laps caught and passed McKenzie and took the lead. Once there he began to pull away from the pack. During the latter stages of the race Philp moved into second but was still adrift at the flag with Jonathan Lattka in third.
D. Gordon then won the Allcomers race again comfortably again from Philp and Gray.

A PAGE DOUBLE
The Prostox drivers found track conditions very slippery but despite this there was a lot of exciting racing.
Tam Page won the opening heat going on to win from Graham Smith and Jardine Millar. Millar then won heat two fending off Page and Gary Nicholls to win.
Smith led the final for quite sometime but lost out during the closing stages as Page went through to record his second win of the night just fending off Millar to the line with Grant Weston in third.
Craig Jones won the Allcomers by a fair margin and led home Ricky White and Millar.

MINISTOX IN STYLE
The Ministox drivers ended up with four races and as usual the drivers were in top form. There was a lot of close racing between Liam Rennie, Gemma Russell and Camie McGowan and they served up racing that belied their age group where they pushed and shoved each other as they tried to improve their lot.
Heat one saw Kieran Howie pick up his second win in successive weeks and he was chased to the flag by Liam Rennie and Gemma Russell. Russell then went on to win heat two and she was clear of Camie McGowan and Rennie. This time it was Rennie who was in charge when heat three was run and ended up winning comfortably over Russell and Howie.
In heat four Rennie rolled his car with McGowan grabbing his first win of the night crossing the line ahead of G. Russell and Dylan O’Donnell.

A WINNING DEBUT
Derek Nimmo was a welcome addition to the Lightning Rods but a shunt in heat one saw Alex Imrie take no further part in the meeting.
John Sibbald went on to win the opening heat from Lindsay Wilson and Nimmo. However in heat two Nimmo led from start to finish to make it a debut to remember and he was just ahead of Wilson and Sibbald at the chequer.
Heat three saw Sibbald pick up his second win of the night as he led home Wilson and Nimmo.
