A heavy downpour just prior to the start of the stock car meeting at the Cowdenbeath Racewall on Saturday night may have dampened the spirits a bit but boy was the racing exciting.
The main race of the night was the prostox Scottish Championship with 33 drivers setting out and only seven making it to the finish line! The action started on the opening lap when two drivers crashed into the wall and then a few laps later the track was completely blocked by a ten car shunt. Tam Page blew an engine in practice, left the track for another and still took his place on the grid for the main race of the night!

A MOODIE HAT TRICK
In the formula IIs when Stephen Forster blew an engine no fewer than five drivers got caught out on the oil slick and ended up against the pit bend wall.
Amongst the formula II drivers in action were Tom Adcroft from Burnley whilst Chris Burgoyne and George MacMillan Jnr were racing at Kings Lynn, getting their cars set up for the forthcoming World Championship.
The opening heat ended with Gordon Moodie going through to win from Dennis Middler and Marc Fortune. Moodie came out on top again in heat two this time leading home Middler and Gregor Turner.
Kenny Mitchell led the final initially then Turner took over but when Forster blew his engine out came the yellows. Moodie was soon through into the lead before going on to win from Alan Kirkaldy and Robbie Dawson.
Dawson then won the Grand National from Kirkaldy and Adcroft.

CALDERWOOD GRABS SCOTTISH TITLE
The prostox drivers turned up in their numbers and as a result there was plenty of shunts and exciting racing.
The last chance qualifying race saw Kevin Morrison go through to win from Ian Taylor and James Bratchie.
The Scottish grid was decided by a public draw with Lee Smart on pole with Grant Weston alongside whilst the defending champion Tam Melrose was to start from row 13 so certainly had a lot to do.
Almost immediately Stewart Aitken and Scott Turner tangled exiting the pit bend suspending the race. A lap later there was another stoppage this time after Ian Hotchkiss and Ricky White tangled on the main straight. After the race was restarted the cars got a couple of laps before there was another stoppage this time with the track being blocked. Grant Weston who had led right from the start then led until lap eight when there was another stoppage with Paul Reid and Gary Thomson being the culprits.
A lap later there was another stoppage after Greg Kirby hit the wall and his car shed a wheel. Weston again led them away but he now had Patrick Calderwood, Aly McDonald and Kevin Letford in close order and they ran in close order for a few laps. Weston went wide allowing Calderwood through into the lead and despite McDonald trying all he knew Calderwood went on to win from McDonald and Weston.
Tam Page won the consolation race from Dougie Kidd and Craig Strathie.
The final saw Gary Nicholls go through to win from Jardine Millar and Kev Easton.

CAMIE SCORES A HAT TRICK
The ministox drivers were as usual in good form although Andy Millar and Gemma Russell were on the receiving end of hefty challenges.
Liam Rennie went on to win the opening heat from Dale Buchan and Camie McGowan. In heat two McGowan took the win and he led home Zak Gilmour and Buchan. Heat three saw McGowan claim his second win of the night this time from Buchan and Gilmour. The last heat of the night saw McGowan make it three in a row and he crossed the line clear of Rennie and Buchan.
